My proposal for Tehran University of Art’s entrance competition has connections with the University, Persian Art, and Art in general at several levels. In the most basic level, the entrance’s form reminds us of the name (in Persian script) and the logo of the university.

Moreover, the form is a conceptual reminiscent of various fields within Persian Art domain, most notably, calligraphy as one of its oldest and most seminal subcategories. From this point of view, my proposal intends to recreate the close relationship between architecture and calligraphy as seen in Islamic Architecture. Also, the form-oriented approach of the design to language is close to that of Persian calligrams as well as the works of the Iranian contemporary sculptor Parviz Tanavoli.
